I´m going to try to show you the Island of Lanzarote, trough my eyes, just as I did, with the extraordinary city of London. Hope you enjoy my posts, almost as much as we enjoyed visiting the island.
Although the whole island of Lanzarote has a very specific micro-climate, the truth is that the climate is different from region to region, which means, the climate in the North is different from that of the South and in the Interior it is different from that of the Coast. The variations are subtle, but they do exist. In addition, there is another peculiarity, in my opinion, a bit annoying, especially for one who loves the sun: in the morning the weather is always cloudy, even with a dark sky. On the other hand, in the afternoon, when the sky discovers, thanks to the wind, the sun is quite hot, which is great.
We stayed at the H10 Sentido White Suites Boutique Hotel, situated in the tourist complex of Playa Blanca, the most southern complex of the Island.
This complex is composed of 3 small coves protected by a large bay. It extends from the beautiful beaches of Papagayo, considered the most beautiful of Lanzarote, to the lighthouse, Faro de Pechiguera.
The 3 coves are joined by a promenade, which allows you to walk along the 3 beaches: Playa Flamingo, Playa Blanca and Playa Dorada. In the direction of the beaches of Papagayo, which are a must visit, we find the recent Rubicon Marina.
Playa Blanca is the main beach of Playa Blanca tourist complex and is where the commercial area with shops, bars and restaurants is located.
If we walk through the Av. Marítima, leaving from Playa Dorada we have, on one side, Playa Blanca and Playa Flamingo and, on the other, Marina Rubicon.
PLAYA DORADA
PLAYA BLANCA
PLAYA FLAMINGO
MARINA RUBICON
with its shops and restaurants and obviously many boats!
We passed Marina Rubicon and decided to continue on the promenade towards Papagayo Beaches.
We discovered this picturesque castle or tower called Torre del Águila or Castillo de Las Coloradas. The view from here is breathtaking and if you do not have vertigo you can look down and observe the wonderful color of the crystalline waters.
Obviously we did not get to the Papagayo Beaches because they are only accessible by rails on the mountain, but we continue to be dazzled by the landscape along the way, so it was totally worth the walk!
