London trip: mind-blowing

In terms of travelling I consider myself very lucky.
My husband Peter and I have traveled quite a bit since we got married. We spent our honeymoon in Paris 20 years ago, went back after 5 years of marriage and again after 20 years.
We have also been to Palma de Mallorca, Brazil, more exactly, Porto Galinhas and Recife, Madeira, Porto Santo, Madrid, Barcelona, Seville and several other places in Spain, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Rome, Tunisia, Sal Island in Cape Verde, Dominican Republic, and Riviera Maya in Mexico.
Last year we went on 3 trips: Lanzarote, London and Paris, on our 20th wedding anniversary.
If someone was to ask me which one was my favorite trip, I would have to choose two: London and Mexico.
These two destinations are entirely different. Riviera Maya is a paradise on earth. Even when you are there you cannot really believe it is real. Everything is gorgeous, the landscape is breathtaking, the water is warm and clear, the sand is golden, there´s luxuriant vegetation and wildlife, the resorts are enormous and glamorous. It´s as if time stands still and there is nothing but beauty, nature, the sweat embrace of the sun, luxury and dolce far niente. You´re actually able to dream while being awake… I´ve even manage to conquer my fear of the water and was able to go snorkeling (even though I do not know how to swim and have a deep phobia towards the water) and watch turtles and even touch them when they surfaced for air and I can tell you it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life!
On the other hand, London is mind-blowing. When you visit London, you grow as a person because you get to see so much art, so much history, so much culture and it´s all for free, museums are opened to the public. I´ve never been anywhere like that. People aren´t the warmest people we´ve met (there´s no match for Brazilians) but they are so extremely polite and educated, they are definitely more evolved.
For instance, Rome was also full of beauty and art, it´s a very sexy city, but it didn´t feel the same, and don´t get me started on Paris, but I´ll get to that in another post.
London was actually one of our bucket list vacations.
I prepared one of my personalized guides and I´m proud to say that we followed it almost to the letter. But it wasn´t easy because I came up with an extenuating course, so we had to walk several kilometers each day. It was totally worth it though! Most people ask us if we went there for a month… no, we just went for 5 days, but, hell, we definitely had the most of our time!
If you’d like to download my guide you just have to go to this address, it´s actually the Download PDF documents of the Blog, I´m glad to share it with all of you :
The guide was written in my native language: Portuguese, but no worries, I´ll be making several posts with lots of photos from our trip and I´ll include some insights in English.
Hope you like it!
